PNGIMR Council
The Papua New Guinea Institute of Medical Research is governed by a 14-member Council. The Council meets regularly to discuss matters of importance to our work. Members are drawn from IMR, University of PNG School of Medicine and Health Sciences and School of Natural and Physical Sciences, Department of Health, Medical Society of PNG, National AIDS Council Secretariat, Goroka General Hospital, Community representative with a particular interest in women’s and children’s rights, and parliament. The Council members are:
Dr Adolf Saweri stepped down as chair in May 2012, after 32 years of dedicated and distinguished service to the cause of medical research in PNG. Sadly, he passed away in November 2012. |
