![]() New fuel tank maximizes savings at IMR The PNGIMR headquarters in Goroka has a new fuel storage tank.
The fuel storage tank or bowser was supplied by Interoil Limited in February. The main aim for the instalment is to maximize savings in fuel expenses - by ordering at wholesale price and also to avoid inconvenience in times of fuel crisis.. Ms Susan Dua, who is in charge of this agreement said with the new fuel storage tank, it will greatly assist the Institute’s Transport Department in terms of saving fuel expenses. “This agreement will see Interoil selling us fuel at the wholesale price therefore our transport department will be in a better position in terms of fuel expenses allocated to each projects as and when used,” said Ms Dua. She added that with the new fuel tank, no cash will be given to IMR drivers for fuel purchases. “This is so that we minimize the risk of misappropriation of funds on site,” she said. Ms Dua added that vehicles will also be strictly monitored for appropriate use only.
