![]() Welcome back Seri Maraga By Llane Munau
Ms Seri Maraga returned to Papua New Guinea in May of this year, after completing her Masters in Population based field Epidemiology at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Ms Maraga’s 18 months of study – one year course work and six months project work, was sponsored by In-Depth Network, an organisation of demographic sites in Ghana. She said she had learnt a lot about the subject she was studying and coming back to IMR she would like to work with ongoing projects and help out wherever she can. “I would like to impart my knowledge to whoever I can help in at IMR,” she said. Currently Seri has started working with the Bed Net Project team; helping Mr Manual Hetzel, the project team leader to further establish sentinel sites for the project. She would like to thank Professor Siba, Dr Suparat Phuanukoonnon, and the Demographic Unit for giving her the opportunity to purse her studies in a country where she not only learnt about Demography and Epidemiology but also a new culture.
