Ms Janet Gare has returned from her studies in Basel, Switzerland.

She arrived in Goroka on the 16th of March and was warmly welcomed back to the country by her family.

Ms Gare had gone to Switzerland to pursue her Masters in ‘Infectious Disease Epidemiology’ and her study was sponsored by the Swiss Tropical Institute.

She joined IMR in 2002 after completing a Bachelor Degree in Sciences (Biology) at the University of Papua New Guinea.

In October 2006 she left the country for Switzerland and has returned triumphantly after completing her Masters with flying colors.

Ms Gare said that she is happy to be back home but needs a good break before resuming her duties in the HIV/STI lab.

Congratulations Janet.
