INDEPTH Centralised Data Sharing System Workshop in Bangkok

The Wosera Demographic Surveillance Site (DSS) as a member of INDEPTH was invited to join the multi-site centralised data sharing system workshop held in Bangkok.

The main aim of developing this Centralized Data-sharing System is to provide sharing of Health and Demographic Surveillance System data between Vadu, India; Kanchanaburi, Thailand and Wosera, Papua New Guinea.

Dr Suparat Phuanukoonnon, the site leader and Mr Thomas Adiguma, the data manager of Wosera DSS attended the workshop.

The outcomes are the protocol and phototype of database are finalised as well as other necessary procedure in particular for setting up the terms and conditions.

This is a pilot exercise which will lead to the 39 members of INDEPTH to share data in the future. Mr Kwabena Owusu Boateng from the INDEPTH Secretary also attended the workshop and has congratulated the success of the workshop and hope this collaboration will extend to other INDEPTH DSS members.
