![]() Staff graduate from UPNG Ms Krufinta Bun, Ms Ore Toporua and Ms Helen Geno had recently joined the PNGIMR with the Fogarty Training Program and are all based in PNGIMR Goroka. The trio went down to POM and graduated with Bachelors in Science. Apart from the three, seven other staff of PNGIMR graduated in absence with their honours. Graduate Scientific officers, Annemarie Laumaea, Sarah Javati, Daphne Sepe, Melinda Susapu, Gimana Nale, Janet Gare and Elias Namosha had all graduated in absence as they weren’t notified on time that they were illegible to graduate on the day. Ms Laumaea and Ms Javati were part of the Fogarty program and did their honours in a year. Both graduated with first class honours. The rest were the first batch of honours and post graduate diploma students who did their studies through the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the University of PNG and PNGIMR. Ms Sepe and Ms Susapu graduated with first class honours whilst Mrs Nale graduate with a second class honors. Ms Gare and Mr Namosha graduated with distinctions in their post graduate diploma courses. PNGIMR director Professor Peter Siba, congratulated the students for their hard work and for getting good marks.
