About

The Papua New Guinea Institute of Medical Research was established in 1968 and was then known as the Institute of Human Biology. In 1978 the PNGIMR Act was passed and the Institute was given its present present name of Papua New Guinea Institute of Medical Research. The Colloquium marks the Institutes 40 years of existence since its humble beginnings in 1968. The 40th Anniversary and Colloquium celebration will be held in Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province. Scientists and researchers who have done research with the institute have been asked to submit papers to present at the colloquium. The research papers that will be presented will only be about research that has been carried out by PNGIMR staff, collaborators and partners.
